Mr. Barton Lee is the founder and managing partner of East Marketing Research (EMR).
Mr. Lee holds a degree in sociology from Sun Yat-Sen University. In 1992 he founded East Marketing Research. Since then he has developed EMR into one of the premier marketing research companies in China. The international client list includes P&G, Uniliver, Colgate, Kodak, Ford, HP, LG and Panasonic. East Marketing Research has offices in Guangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Chicago and Vancouver.
Mr. Lee has been a featured speaker on marketing research at Dong Business College, Ji Nan, Tsinghua, Sun Yat-Sen and Fu Dan Universities. He has published articles on the various aspects of marketing research in China in Quirk¡¯s Marketing Research, AMA Marketing New and Win Weekly.
Mr. Lee is an expert in the China market. He specializes in the growing automobile and FMCG markets. Mr. Lee is a member of ESOMAR, AMA and PMRS.



The strength of any research organisation must surely lie in its people. We at EMR strongly believe in this and in having a blend of rich, diverse experience and continuing education. 

EMR has over 80 full-time employees across its various offices. Most of our researchers are graduates from premier universities in China and abroad. EMR researchers hail from diverse mix of backgrounds- Business Administration, Statistics, Psychology, Linguistics, Industrial Management, Engineering, Electronics, Biochemistry to name a few. 


Some of our researchers also bring into EMR an international orientation, having worked in diverse markets such as India,  Korea, Taiwan, Macao, USA and the UK.

EMR researchers regularly attend market research seminars to assimilate and share new ideas with fellow researchers and continue to sharpen their research skills.
